About Alpaca
I am at Oakland Animal Services in kennel Dog L:1
Alpaca is a 2 year old, extra large Cane Corso mix, whose heart seems to match his size. Volunteers describe him as "super sweet and silly" and "really sweet, gentle boy," the kind of dog who leans his whole body in and happily soaks up every bit of affection. He loves to "drape himself across my legs" and rest his big head in your hands while his little nub wags nonstop.
He has some basic training, takes treats gently, and walks nicely on leash for a dog his size. Alpaca can be unsure with new people at first, so he will do best with an experienced, breed-savvy adopter who can give him clear guidance, continued positive reinforcement training, and a calm, steady home. With the right person, this big, sensitive boy is ready to be an incredibly loving companion. Alpaca will do well in a home with other well-matched dogs or happily as the only dog with social opportunities.
