ALPHA NEEDS A FOREVER HOME!!!!
Come meet Alpha and other great adoptable dogs this Sunday (11/23) from 12-3 pm at the PetSmart in Silver Spring, MD (12020 Cherry Hill Rd, Silver Spring, MD 20904)!
Name: Alpha Best Guess for Breed: Boxer and plott hound mix
Best Guess for Age: 8 months as of October 2025 SEX: Female
Approximate Weight: 25.3 lbs as of 10/19/25 - she is still growing!
Gets Along With: Other dogs! We haven't seen her with cats or kids but we are happy to discuss integration techniques with any potential adopters!
Currently Living at: DC area foster home
Alpha is Looking For: Hi there! I'm Alpha. My sister Beta (side note here: Please do not think our names reflect our personalities. They don't. Shelter staff were just out of name ideas.) and I have enjoyed growing up together but now we're ready to split up and get our forever families! I'm young and haven't seen nearly enough of the world, so I'm looking for humans who will take me on sniffy walks and romps in parks and all the adventures they can dream up. I want to make pup pals along the way, and go to dog school too.
But most of all I want to know where I belong, that I'm safe and loved. In exchange, I promise adoring gazes and loyal companionship for all my days.

What My Foster Says About Me: Alpha was a shy pup when she first came but we quickly saw her personality shine in the home. She is a perfect blend of puppy/zoomies and Netflix and Chill, walks good on a leash, and is doing well with house breaking and crate training. She has come good way in her crate training in the last few weeks. Alpha can get nervous with new people but once she knows you, she becomes a little shadow and follows you every where. Alpha has done fine with meeting new dogs and seems pretty neutral to them for the most part. She loves chewing on a good bone!
Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken. All of our dogs are working on their crate training.
