About Amy

LOCATION: Odessa, TX
DOB: 07/13/2023

Meet Amy, a stunning black Lab and Great Dane mix who truly brings out the best qualities of both breeds. She's goofy and playful like a Lab, yet snuggly and loyal like a Dane—always ready to curl up with you or follow you from room to room. At about 70 pounds, she still thinks she's a lapdog, and her velcro-dog heart means she'd rather be right by your side than anywhere else.

Amy is around three years old, spayed, and up to date on vaccines. She has a nice balance of energy: she loves her daily walks and a good game of fetch, but she's just as happy to spend the afternoon napping on the couch or in bed with you. She does well in her kennel once settled, especially if she has a kong or something to keep her busy, and she's been helped by having music or podcasts playing nearby.

Because Amy came to rescue as a stray, she can take a little extra time to adjust in a new home, particularly around other animals. She is dog friendly, but she does best with submissive dogs and an adopter who can supervise closely in the beginning, as she may resource guard. With cats, she's made wonderful progress in her foster home, but her excitement can overwhelm them at first—so she'll either need continued guidance or a cat-free household.

What makes Amy so special is her big heart and unwavering devotion. She's a true love bug, eager to please, and deeply bonded to her people. Food motivates her in all the right ways, making training both fun and rewarding.

Amy is ready to find her forever family—the kind who will laugh at her goofy antics, snuggle her close, and appreciate her loyal Lab-and-Dane soul. She's not just a companion; she's a best friend waiting to be cherished.
