About Athena

Animal Profile: Athena is a 3 year old, 14 lb pug mix that wound up in a crowded shelter in San Bernardino, CA. Her kennel run was a staff favorite, full of friendly smalls. The staff said she is playful and has a fun personality. She arrives Sunday 11/2/2025.

Foster Update: Athe na is coming out of her shell and is such a spunky, lovable girl! She loves finding toys around the house to chew on (beware small objects on ground level!) and has started to be playful with the other dog in her foster home. They will play chase in the yard and very respectfully wrestle. Her main priority is being close to her people. She gets the happy wiggles when her people are near, and loves to snuggle. Athena can get excitable seeing other dogs while on leash, but her foster parents are helping her learn leash manners. She sleeps through the night in her crate without a peep and is quick to settle when she's left at home during the day.

Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $575 which includes spay/neuter, core vaccinations per AVMA standards, heartworm test if applicable, microchip with registration, and health certificate. Your adoption fee may be tax deductible as DGS is a 501c3 organization. All adoption fees go toward the care of all dogs in our rescue.
