ADOPTION PROCESS

Before 2nd Chance Dog Rescue places a dog in his/her furever home, the potential adopter is required to fill out an Adoption Consultation Application. Once we have reviewed your application we will contact you to arrange a meet and greet and home check. 2nd Chance Dog Rescue will only adopt to families living in the Queen Creek, Gilbert, Chandler, Mesa, Tempe, San Tan Valley, and Phoenix area - as long as it is within 50 miles of our rescue (Queen Creek).

Meet Athena — the sweetest 7-year-old love bug!

If you're looking for a cuddle buddy, look no further… Athena is your girl. This beautiful soul loves nothing more than being close to her people. She is gentle, affectionate, and has a heart full of love she's ready to share.

Athena knows sit and shake, takes treats softly, and walks wonderfully on a leash. She has the cutest little nub tail that wiggles nonstop, and she'll happily flop onto her back for belly rubs — her absolute favorite! She would make a wonderful walking or hiking buddy and the perfect companion for someone wanting a loyal best friend.

Because of her medical condition, Athena cannot be spayed and needs her health monitored regularly. For this reason, we are looking for a forever foster in the East Valley, and we will cover all of her medical needs and care. All she needs from you is love, safety, and a soft place to land.

Athena must be the only animal in the home — but don't worry, she has more than enough love to give all on her own.
