small sweetie seeking fresh start and love!
BELLA NEEDS A FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME!!!!
Name: Bella Best Guess for Breed: Shih tzu and poodle mix
Best Guess for Age: 3 years as of December 2025 SEX: Female
Approximate Weight: 13 lbs
Gets Along With: Bella is good with other dogs! She is said to be submissive to dogs. She has lived with cats as well. We haven't seen her with kids but we are happy to discuss integration techniques with any potential adopters!
Currently Living at: Lucky Dog's South Carolina rescue campus. She needs a foster or adopter to secure her freedom ride to the DC area.
Special Adoption Consideration: During Bella's veterinary exam, it was noted that she has some discomfort in her right knee due to a torn ligament, along with early signs of hip dysplasia and arthritis in her left hip. Bella will benefit from seeing an orthopedic specialist, and she may need some extra care, such as surgery, to help her stay active and comfortable. We're happy to chat with potential adopters about her health needs.
Due to her over eagerness with treats, we would be cautious about homes with children under 12 yrs old.
Bella is Looking For: Her forever home! This small sweetie landed in the shelter through no fault of her own. She's eager to once again have her own humans for sniffy walks - she's young and likes her walkies! - and all the adventures they can dream up. And snuggles, yes, lots of those too. She does want her humans to understand that longer coats like hers get matted easily - and mats hurt! She's looking for someone who will brush it properly daily and take her for regular professional grooming.
In exchange she promises so many adoring gazes, so much love and loyalty. What do you say? Is Bella the one for your lap and your life?
What My Foster Says About Me: We will update this once she has spent time in foster care.
