• Strong recall and stops mid-chase with a single verbal correction (yes, even when a squirrel or cat darts by)

• Same with chickens — he'll think about it, but one calm "no" and he chooses you instead

• Shy with some new people at first, but warms up in minutes with calm introductions

• Reactive to very loud/rambunctious kids, fireworks, popping balloons — he's sensitive and will do best in a quieter, adult or older-kids home

• Protective once he knows his territory — barks to alert at strangers at the door or unusual sounds (a true "I've got your back" guard dog without aggression)

• Plays beautifully with other dogs and loves doggy friends
