About Caillou
From a tiny puppy to a three year old 40-pound Pit/Jack Russell/Basset Hound mix, Caillou has worked harder than most dogs ever have to prove he's ready for a home, yet he's still homeless. With the help of @ryk9companion, Caillou has transformed. He walks nicely on leash, listens to commands like "place" and "come," greets new dogs with neutrality (a huge milestone), and can even be called off distractions like squirrels. For a dog who once struggled with reactivity and impulse control, his progress is incredible. And now, his time at board and train is ending, and he has nowhere to go. No foster. No forever home. We need someone to give him the stability he deserves to keep building on everything he's worked so hard for. Caillou is affectionate, smart, athletic, and loving. Once his energy is out, his extra cuddly and quirky side comes out. He thrives with structure and routine and has done really well outside a busy city, which would likely be ideal. He can coexist with other dogs but will need a very dedicated handler and structured environment if another dog is in the home. He will give back every ounce of love and commitment you show him. Caillou's adoption fee is fully waived, and we've expanded his adoption radius for the right match. His adopter will also have training sessions with @ryk9companion.
