About Casey
Pug Rescue of New England (PRoNE) is a non-profit 501(c)(3), all volunteer foster home based rescue organization.
MEET CASEY!
AVAILABLE PENDING NEUTER
Casey is a 2 year old little gentleman who came to us all the way from Tiny Paws Pug Rescue in California. They fixed him up when he got into rescue as he had a pretty severe infection from a dog bite sustained prior entering rescue. We do not have any detail about that incident but he is all healed up. Thank you Tiny Paws! He has acclimated very well to the climate here and fits in beautifully with his foster family. He is a smart, confident, curious and gentle boy.
Casey has really enjoyed the company of the 3 pugs in his foster home. He likes to play and cuddle together with them. He met a couple of cats at the vet's office and seemed frightened. He is shy at first meeting new people, but he warms up quickly and loves giving kisses to both humans and dogs alike.
Casey loves his stuffed toys! He really likes small ones that he can carry around with him, and he likes to take them outside to play! He enjoys playing tug-of-war with his foster parents or foster pug siblings. He also enjoys spending time in his cozy dog bed or up on the "pug couch" in front of the window where he can patrol the neighborhood with the rest of the grumble. Get ready for some burrowing under blankets from this little ferret! He has been sleeping in bed with his foster family, and nothing makes him happier than getting under the covers. It is a bit chillier here than where he came from!
Casey is a well-mannered young man. Very polite at mealtime, waiting for his dish to be served and waiting for the others to finish before checking for leftovers. He lets his foster know when he needs to do business by going to the back door. He will play with shoes from time to time but is not destructive. Another adorable trait Casey possesses is the ability to stand on his hind legs for a treat like a little circus dog. This ability also comes in handy when looking out the window and giving kisses to his people. He follows the sit, stay, down and come commands as well! He has not been around children with his current family but given his gentle and loving personality we think he'd do great in a home with respectful children.
Casey gets a little anxious at first on car rides but settles in soon thereafter. We think with continued trips out for fun times with his beloved people, he will be jumping in the car ready for the next big adventure before you know it! Casey's weight is slightly above ideal. Continued walks and watching the snack intake should have him in top athletic shape. Having received a clean bill of health on all other counts, Casey will be neutered on 12/9 after which he will be ready to find his best of the rest here in New England!
