MEET COOPER!
Life hasn't always been kind to Cooper, but you'd never know it by the way he looks at you—with soft, trusting eyes full of gratitude. This gentle and beautiful Bernese Mountain Dog mix, approximately 6–7 years old, has endured neglect and hardship, yet he radiates warmth and kindness. Cooper's journey to a better life began when he was rescued by Tara's House from an outdoor kennel just prior to Christmas 2024 where he had spent nearly all of his life.
Cooper is a gentle soul who is just happy to be with you. He gets along beautifully with everyone and everything; dogs, cats, critters, and older kids who have been taught to respect dogs. All he asks for is a cozy spot to rest his head, a gentle hand to reassure him, and the time to slowly ease into an active routine. However, if you have the time for a bum scratch…he will happily accept! Completely housebroken, this boy is a gem who also puts himself to bed at night in his crate. He will greet you in the morning with the cutest happy tippy-tap dance and a wagging tail.
He is a calm, sweet-natured old soul who would make an easy transition into a home with a fenced-in yard (and a home with carpet or carpet runners would be especially appreciated by him, as he finds hard floors a little scary!)
