Story: Gurty was rescued from a shelter in Alabama. We are so happy to have her safe and sound in a foster home in the DC area now. Gurty is a happy sweetie who loves people and gets along great with other dogs and puppies. She knows just how to get comfortable up on the couch with her humans, and will love to join you on walks and trots around the neighborhood. Gurty is just looking for someone to be her new best furend and we know that she will repay them with endless amounts of love and tail wags. Like all dogs, Gurty will need an adopter who is committed to setting her up for success by enrolling in obedience training and exercising her both mentally and physically. She will also need love, patience, and socialization in order to thrive!
What my foster says: Gurty is your typical playful, friendly puppy. Her foster has a dog and cat and Gurty happily lives with them in the home. She has been friendly with every person and dog she's met so far. Gurty is an intelligent and active dog, but not overly active. Her foster believes she would thrive most in a home with an active family who's enthusiastic about having a dog that is able to learn tricks, play games, and follow commands in and out of the house. She is a quick and eager learner. She is super affectionate and loves to get pets. She is crate trained. She loves the water and even tries to follow the foster into the shower. Her recall is excellent - she always comes running at the dog park or in the backyard. Being a puppy, she is still potty training and leash training. Her foster says both of those are going well as far as a dog's typical development goes. Gurty is a very special dog, and we want her to go to an equally wonderful home!
The fee to adopt Gurty is $475. That covers the cost of all her vaccines, her spay, the collar she's wearing, her transport to DC and her care in her foster home. She's up to date on all age appropriate vaccines.
