About Jagger
Jagger is friendly, playful, and overflowing with happy-go-lucky energy. He's been great with other dogs and instantly made friends with his foster's pup—sniffing, exploring, and trotting along together like they've known each other forever. True to his terrier roots, he's always ready to trail a squirrel, investigate a bush, or attempt to crawl into a mysterious ditch (his life's work, apparently).
In the home, Jagger has been an absolute delight. He seems potty trained, hasn't marked, and slept a full night in his crate with only a small bit of initial whining. He loves toys—especially anything ball-shaped—and is treat-motivated, making training fun and easy. On leash he can "pancake" if he feels too much tension, but a little encouragement gets him going again, and with confidence and consistency this should improve quickly.
He's curious about the resident cat, though currently terrified of him (one glance from Simba and he's hiding behind his foster). With the big dog of the house, he's respectful and learns quickly—one gentle correction was all it took for him to remember his manners.
Jagger absolutely adores people, especially his foster dad, and is as goofy and sweet as they come. He loves to sneak shoes and laundry into his crate like the tiny terrier troll he is, but in the most endearing way.
If you're looking for a quirky, cuddly, playful little companion who brings instant joy (and maybe steals a sock or two), Jagger is your guy. He can't wait to find his forever home!
Jagger was rescued from a high kill shelter in Texas.
Meet and greets are by appointment only. An approved application is required to schedule a meeting. Check out our events page for upcoming open adoption events!
We have no additional back story or update for this dog at this time. When we do, it will be updated here. This is all the information we have currently.
Approved Applicants may make the adoption fee payment by clicking donate above. Partial adoption fees will not hold a dog. If upon meeting the dog of your choosing at your scheduled pickup time you find that you aren't a good match, your deposit will be fully refunded. Adoption fees include vaccines up until time of adoption, microchip, spay/neuter and 1st 30 days of free pet insurance. We are not affiliated with MetLife pet insurance. (you have to sign up for the insurance or it will not go into effect). Adoption fees help cover the medical care of the animals while he or she waits for a new home, as well as food and transportation costs. These fees help to provide care for the other animals in the shelter or rescue group who may have medical bills that are much higher than any possible adoption fee. The money also acts as a donation to help support the organization as a whole, allowing the group to continue its efforts to rescue and rehome pets. The dogs in our care are fostered in Colorado, Texas, and New Mexico. While all dogs are picked up during our scheduled times, sometimes transport dates change due to unforeseen circumstances.
