About June Carter
June Carter has been with us since she was rescued as a tiny 5-week-old pup from the Wind River Reservation. She has grown into a gentle, cautious soul who bonds deeply with women and thrives when she feels safe and understood. June doesn't trust men and will not do well in a household with them, but with the right woman she becomes affectionate, playful, and loyal. She adores snowy adventures, quiet outdoor play, and the company of other dogs and cats.
Because she is shy and takes time to warm up, we're looking for a local foster-to-adopt home where she can adjust at her own pace. June lives with hip dysplasia, which is managed with daily supplements, and she will need a securely fenced yard for her active spirit. She is crate-trained, eager to learn, and does best in calm, structured environments. June's perfect match is a single female adopter who will give her patience, consistency, and the chance to blossom into the loving companion she truly is.
At Laramie Animal Welfare Society, the first step to adoption is completing an adoption application on our website www.laramieanimals.org. Once submitted, your application will be reviewed by our adoption team which typically takes 7+ days. Keep in mind, the animal you're interested in when applying may be adopted and no longer available by the time your application is approved. We do not place animals on hold. Pending approval, your application is valid for 6 months. Also pending approval, you will receive contact information, so that you may inquire about the personalities of specific animals. Adoptions for individual animals will occur by private adoption appointment. Because we are 100% foster-based, appointments are scheduled pending staff, foster home, and vetting schedules. Should you want to proceed with the adoption, a brief appointment will occur at our adoption center to sign adoption paperwork, receive medical records, and pay the adoption fee.
