About Leela

Leela is a 4 month old, 25 pound female German Shepherd from working lines. She is medium to high drive and needs a home that will provide both substantial mental and physical activity. A simple stroll in the park is not going to be enough to satisfy her need for activity and mental stimulation. She is sweet tempered and enjoys meeting new people and having new adventures. Her foster home has a 4 foot fence, which she respects. She is currently living on a horse farm and overall does well with the animals she lives with, however, she is NOT good with cats, chickens and baby goats. Leela is dominant with other dogs, regardless of their size, and will try to boss around a 100 pound Great Pyrenees if she can get away with it. As a result, small dogs are not recommended for her. Leela's favorite activity is swimming. She would probably excel at dock diving and already has taught herself to launch off the embankment of the farm pond into the water instead of going sloped side. If water is nearby this girl is in it! One thing to note is Leela is missing one eye - which has not slowed her down in the least! We think it adds to her character, like she is winking at us saying "I got this!". She doesn't miss anything that is happening and is always in the middle of the action. Her motto in life is "work hard, play harder!" and she does that very well. Leela is mostly housebroken and crate trained and still needs to be let out on a regular potty schedule.
