About LUNA

Meet Luna, our sassy success story in motion! ??

Luna was surrendered to PAC on March 17, 2025, after her rescuer realized their own cats weren't too thrilled about sharing space. This 5-year-old Domestic Shorthair came to us tipping the scales at 21 pounds, with a body condition score of 9/9 — which meant everything, even moving, was uncomfortable.

Her previous person described her as playful, cuddly, and even fond of baths and catnip. But at the shelter, poor Luna wasn't feeling her best. She barely moved, had plenty to say about her situation, and wasn't shy about letting us know that being handled was not her favorite thing — mostly because it hurt.

So Luna headed off to foster care for "Weight Loss Boot Camp!" And wow, what a transformation! As of October 23rd, she's down to a healthy 16 pounds and feeling fabulous. She can now leap onto the bed, race up and down the hallway, and she's even been caught perched on the fireplace mantel — or blocking the stairs entirely to remind the dogs who's really in charge.

Luna currently lives in foster with both dogs and cats, and she handles it all like a queen. She enjoys supervising the household, choosing her favorite spots to lounge, and occasionally reminding everyone who runs the place.

She's still the same confident, loving girl her first person described — now just a lot more mobile! Luna is proof that with a little patience (and maybe fewer snacks), second chances can look this good.
