Come meet Melanie and other great adoptable dogs this Saturday (10/25) from 12-3 pm at the PetSmart in Alexandria, VA (3351 Richmond Highway, Alexandria, VA 22305)!
Name: Melanie Best Guess for Breed: Rat terrier and feist mix
Best Guess for Age: 2 years as of August 2025 SEX: Female
Approximate Weight: 24 lbs
Gets Along With: Melanie gets along with other dogs. She should not go to a home with cats. We haven't seen her with kids but we are happy to discuss integration techniques with any potential adopters!

Melanie is Looking For: Her forever home! Melanie did a great job of raising her babies Maeve, Margot, Matilda, and Micah, and they're off to find their own homes. Now Melanie is seeking her own humans to lavish all that love upon - to trot alongside on those sniffy walks and adventures! Making new pup pals along and having plenty of opportunity to run and play is on her wish list along with quality kibble and a cushy dog bed too. But above all she wants to know where she belongs, to be under her own roof. In exchange she promises adoring gazes and loyal companionship for all her days.

What My Foster Says About Me: Melanie is a total sweetheart and doing very well. She has come out her shell quite a bit, playing with my niece's dog, walking well on leash, and she hasn't had any accidents in the house. She really gets loves to snuggle. She is going to be a great dog for someone.
Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken. All of our dogs are working on their crate training.
