About Miles (VA)
Miles is a 2-year-old, 12 lb. chihuahua/rat terrier mix with a shy heart and a gentle soul. He is cautious when meeting strangers, but it doesn't take him long to warm up. Once you're "in," he'll shower you with so much sweetness, affection, and love!
Miles will do best with an adopter who can help him come out of his shell and learn to be more confident around new people and continue his socialization. He would love a dog sibling he can hang out with, play tug and fetch and cuddle with. Miles has not been tested with children, but we believe he'd be best suited for a home with no children, or with older, dog-savvy kids who understand and respect his boundaries. This little guy is food-motivated and eager to learn - he already knows how to sit for treats and will happily show off his adorable "dance" on his back legs. He's house trained and is making good progress on getting used to leashed walks.With patience, consistency, and love, Miles will blossom into a loyal, devoted companion who wants nothing more than to be close to his people. If you're ready to invest a little time in this sensitive sweetheart, he's ready to give you his whole heart in return.
