Meet Moonshine - a gentle, soulful 6-year-old Treeing Walker Coonhound mix who is looking for the place where she truly belongs.

When she trotted into my life, she came with the sweetest eyes and a heart full of trust. She loves the simple joys, stretching out on the couch next to her person, rolling over for belly rubs at any opportunity, and offering her paw for a perfect little shake when she knows a treat is coming. Give her a dog bone and she'll happily show off every trick she knows.

Outdoors is where her spirit comes alive. She loves feeling the breeze during a walk, exploring new trails, or running with that joyful, floppy-eared trot that only hounds can pull off. And when the day winds down, she just wants to curl up beside someone who makes her feel safe.

But as much love as she gives, she struggles with other dogs. I gave her time, patience, and every chance to adjust, hoping things would get better. I wanted so much for it to work. But her heart is happiest when she doesn't have to share her space, with no other dogs to worry about, just her and her person.

That's why, with a heavy heart but a lot of hope for her future, I'm looking for a home where she can finally be someone's one and only. She hasn't been around kids, so an adult household would be best for her comfort.

She's house trained, spayed, microchipped, fully vaccinated, and ready for a fresh start. She's ready to give all the love she has to someone who will be her soft place to land.
