About NIPSEY

Nipsey is looking for someone with a big, patient heart to help her learn how to dog. She's such a Nervous Nelly at the moment. She's not super comfortable being around people, but we're helping her practice. At the moment she prefers her space and keeping some distance from you. Nipsey's nerves often have her coming across as rude when she's really just scared. She just appreciates lots of space. Even loose in the play yard – which is most shelter dogs' happy place – her anxiety shows. She trots laps and maintains as much distance from you as she possibly can. She seems most comfortable in her kennel by herself. As treat motivated as she is, we think that's the ticket to her heart. She'll happily take treats gently from your hand through her kennel, but then she scampers off to eat them by herself. She has done well interacting with other dogs in shelter playgroups though, and she's also proven herself to be potty trained! With lots of time and patience in a previous foster home she warmed up well to the children, and even enjoyed them loving and petting on her. We know it'll take a special soul to help Nipsey trust people, but she's worth it!

Nipsey busca a alguien con un corazón grande y paciente que la ayude a aprender a ser un perro. Ahora mismo está muy nerviosa. No se siente muy cómoda estando rodeada de gente, pero la estamos ayudando a practicar. Ahora mismo prefiere su espacio y mantener cierta distancia. Sus nervios a menudo la hacen parecer grosera cuando en realidad solo está asustada. Simplemente agradece tener mucho espacio. Incluso suelta en el patio, que es el lugar feliz de la mayoría de los perros de refugio, su ansiedad se nota. Trota alrededor de ti y mantiene la mayor distancia posible. Parece estar más cómoda sola en su caseta. Como le gustan las golosinas, creemos que eso es la clave para ganarse su corazón. Tomará golosinas de tu mano con mucho gusto a través de su caseta, pero luego corre a comérselas sola. Sin embargo, se ha desenvuelto bien interactuando con otros perros en los grupos de juego de refugios, ¡y también ha demostrado que sabe ir al baño! Tras pasar mucho tiempo y paciencia en un hogar de acogida anterior, se encariñó con los niños e incluso disfrutó de sus caricias y cariños. Sabemos que se necesita un alma especial para ayudar a Nipsey a confiar en la gente, ¡pero lo vale!
