About Pepper D4661

Pepper was timid and nervous at the shelter and warmed up. Once we rescued her she warmed up to her foster mom right away. She is a sweetheart. Allows all handling. Pepper will need grooming and has very long nails. Looks like she had puppies before. Foster home will cut off some of the mats. Thanks to the shelter for shaving off some mats and bathing her. She will go to our vet on Sunday for exam Rabies (mercury free) our microchip and nail trim. We will then set up her grooming appt. More info. to come as she relaxes eats healthy foods and learns at her foster home with 2 small dogs.
11/20/25 Foster Home Update: Pepper plays gently with other dogs but prefers to be with people. She's very friendly to every person she meets and likes to be petted and likes to be held. She was fine with the cat at the vets office. She uses the pee pads in the house without issue and just last night she was brave enough to go through the dog door six times with encouragement. She does not bark that much except when she's excited for food she'll say a few words. She doesn't seem to shed at all. And she just now is responding to her name.
She has a cough now and needs time to rest before groomer.
Then later she needs her spay surgery.
