About Ruby

Ruby is a sweet, mild-mannered Pomeranian/Chihuahua mix looking for a calm and loving home to spend her golden years. At 13 years old and 13 lbs, Ruby enjoys car rides and gazing out the window, and her favorite pastime is exploring the fenced yard at her own relaxed pace.

This charming senior girl would thrive in a quiet home, perhaps with a retired or work-from-home adopter, who can let her outside every 2-3 hours. She's fully house-trained and lets you know when she needs to go out by pacing. She's not crate-trained but does perfectly fine without one.

Ruby doesn't play with toys but adores back scratches. She's a low-energy companion who will happily wander around the yard on her own, or join you for short walks and quiet days at home.

She's quiet and gentle, only barking when the other dogs do. She has done well making friends with the other dogs in her foster home. She will require a home without young children (under 13), as loud noises and fast movements can be stressful for her. Ruby does not have experience with cats.

The adoption fee is $250. Adoption fee includes spay/neuter, heartworm/Lyme test, all age-appropriate vaccinations (distemper, rabies, and Bordetella), heartworm and flea/tick preventatives, and microchip implant (including registration). Adoption fees INCLUDE a mandatory sales tax of 7.525%. Age and breed are based on veterinarian and intake professional's recommendation and not guaranteed as a rescue animal's history is often unknown. Due to post-adoption services provided, we prefer to adopt within a 150-mile radius of the Twin Cities. However, we will consider up to 250 miles if the foster agrees to travel requirements and staff approval.
