About Sam AKA Tadashi

Tadashi needs a home—and he needs one soon. A ~4-month-old pup arrived named after the brilliant, endlessly kind, and sometimes adorably goofy older brother from Big Hero 6… and honestly, it fits him perfectly.

When he first arrived at his foster mom's home, Tadashi was heartbreakingly underweight—quiet, withdrawn, and so unbelievably gentle for a lab mix that it scared us a little. It was like he wasn't sure he deserved anything good.

But thank goodness, that worry didn't last.

Within 24 hours, this smart little soul figured out the bells his Pekingese foster brother uses to go outside, learned to sit for treats, and—most importantly—learned he was finally safe, warm, fed, and loved.

And once that switch flipped? Tadashi bloomed.

Now at roughly 8 months old, he's a tall, lanky, gloriously goofy teenager of a dog who doesn't quite know his size, has a black-hole lab stomach, and has yet to meet a puzzle he can't solve (or take apart). He showers his humans with "presents"—hairbrushes, spools of thread, stolen treat bags, whatever he can carry—and he loves cuddles, wrestling, pack time, and driving his foster family just slightly bonkers with his favorite game of "inside/outside."

He's also incredibly kind with shy foster puppies who need help coming out of their shells—he's got a gentle old soul, even if his body is pure Labrador chaos.

But here's the desperate part:

Tadashi is ready. Ready for a forever family. Ready for stability. Ready for his people.

He just needs someone to give him that chance.

He thrives in a semi-active home with a fenced yard and really benefits from another playful young dog who can keep up with him. Because his foster family is rarely gone, he may need some help adjusting to longer stretches alone. And because he's whip-smart and a touch headstrong—classic lab—experience with the breed would be amazing. He's even been considered as a potential service dog because of his intelligence and heart.

Tadashi is the whole package: goofy, brilliant, gentle, loving, energetic, and eager to belong.

If you have room in your home—and your heart—please consider giving this sweet boy the forever family he's been waiting for. He's ready to love you with everything he's got.

And honestly? He's running out of time to keep waiting.
