Meet Siena, a 4 year old Spaniel Mix!

Siena arrived at our rescue from a SoCal shelter with a couple of buddies, shy and unsure of the world. Today, she has blossomed into one of the gentlest, most affectionate dogs her foster family has ever hosted. She's truly special.

Daily Routine

Siena sleeps quietly through the night in her roomy crate and wakes up when her humans do— usually around 7:30am. After a quick backyard potty break, she enjoys breakfast between 8–9am followed by a relaxed walk around the block.

During the day, Siena is a devoted little shadow. She follows her foster mom from room to room, naps beside her, curls up on her lap, or joins the family dog, Yuki, outside for squirrel-watching and sunbathing. If her foster needs to step out, Siena is excellent about calmly waiting in her crate— or she's thrilled to ride shotgun for errands.

Dinner is at 7:30pm, followed by an evening walk, and then she settles back into her crate for a quiet, peaceful night.

Personality

Siena began her foster journey timid, jealous of the resident dog, and unsure of her surroundings. But once she realized she was safe, her sweetness came pouring out. She now follows her foster everywhere, gently asking for affection by simply gazing at you until you scratch her ears or stroke her back— at which point she melts like warm butter, eyes drifting closed in pure bliss.

She is tenderhearted, sensitive, and easily startled in new environments. A man on a bike, windshield wipers, even a decorative crow have given her pause— but with gentle reassurance, she acclimates quickly. Once she understands something is safe, she carries on with confidence.

Siena adores people of all ages. She's been around more than 50 kids between the ages of 2–16 and is patient, calm, and happy for their attention. She's equally friendly with men and women— truly a social butterfly.

Dog Interactions

Siena lives with a mellow 12-year-old corgi mix. After an initial period of jealousy, she now understands that love is abundant and gets along beautifully with him. She doesn't play much with him, but when a guest dog closer to her size visited, she enjoyed wrestling and bouncing around. She tends to be cautious with new dogs but overall friendly.

Energy + Playfulness

Siena is primarily a lounger who loves cuddles more than games. But don't underestimate her— she happily joins her foster family on walks and hikes up to seven miles. She enjoys exploring, sniffing, and taking in the world at her own pace.

Leash Skills

She's learning! Siena didn't know how to walk on a leash at first, but she's a quick study. She doesn't pull, though she sometimes drifts under your feet if spooked. She shows interest in anything that scurries but not in an obsessive way.

Training + House Manners

Siena is not fully housetrained yet and may have accidents, but she is smart and improving. She is fully crate-trained and uses potty pads when confined. She also learned to use a doggy door quickly.

She rarely barks, though she sometimes vocalizes at unpredictable triggers—nothing excessive.

Why Adopt Siena?

She is incredibly smart and full of personality. She tests boundaries, learns quickly, and has enormous potential to flourish with structure. Siena is a diamond in the rough—loving, devoted, funny, and deeply connected to her humans.

Favorite Foster Moments

Her foster family's favorite thing about her? The cuddles—always the cuddles.

And the funniest story: one day, no one could find Siena anywhere. After multiple searches around the house and backyard, her foster finally spotted her perfectly camouflaged in a pile of stuffed animals— blended in like a plush toy come to life.
