About TEDDY

My name is Teddy and I came to the shelter in rough shape - I was underweight, lethargic, and with bad skin. However, I have made a dramatic turn around in the last week with the help of the vet team. I am an older dog with some orthopedic issues (I am on long term pain meds and joint supplements) but otherwise happy and healthy. I am friendly and I want a loving home where I can thrive. Won't you help me? Come meet me today!
INSIGHTS FROM MY FOSTER AND ADVENTURE BUDDIES:
`It took him a bit, but he warmed up to us! He did not like the car, he was scared of getting in and out. We went on a little hike and he got a little pep in his step! He liked the hike, especially the sniffing! We hung out iindoors where he encountered little dog and cat and was so good with them. He is super chill! I bet he would be lovely with kids, and a perfect dog for someone laid back.`
`Teddy is a very gentle and sweet boy! He was very friendly once he warmed up to us and was very easy to take for a walk in places where he was comfortable. He loved sniffing around and was jogging a little too! He was unfazed by other people and other dogs around, but he was afraid of the car. A very sweet and chill boy! It took him a bit to get comfortable with us, but once he warmed up he was happy to walk around! We went on a walk and he was very happy to sniff around and even started jogging around a little! But he liked staying around the area where he was familiar and comfortable.`
Teddy is a devoted and sweet fellow who seems to have been a bit overwhelmed by his stray experience and is starting to come out of his shell. I think he's still trying to figure out (or remember?) how living in a home works. He does not like to be left alone (without at least 1 person in the house with him) and I am trying not to leave him alone for very long so he can become more confident. I am also familiarizing him with the crate so that hopefully, he can become crate trained (right now he just eats in there with the door open and will lie down in there with the door open). He is gentle and personable and pleasant to walk on a leash (a couple of times he has developed the Zoomies on leash and he is strong, but not seeking to make trouble and I find him manageable). He will stop and look at other dogs or people if they are approaching but is not reactive. He has been very accepting of my dog and enjoys playing with her. He has a gentle, devoted personality.
