NOT YET TAKING APPLICATIONS – NOT YET AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION

NEW INTAKE 11/12/2025: Vernajean - female - approx 5 years old - 21.10 (chunky) pounds - Westie mix

Reason for intake: We were contacted by the owner of Vernajean and another dog... and by the caretaker of the dogs that they needed rescue. The owner, sadly, is in very poor health and not likely to come home. The caretaker had them at her house and desperately needed help. She thought it was going to be a temporary situation which quickly turned into a long-term situation. We went to the property. We took in Vernajean and the other dog went to another rescue. Vernajean is already spayed. She has a mass at her rear that appears to have ruptured in the past. It's possibly her anal gland but the hard lump is about the size of a golf ball. We are having our vet address it. Other than that she appears to be in good shape despite long, curled nails, a messy coat and overweight. She's heading to our groomer and our vet soon! Stay tuned!

NOT TAKING APPLICATIONS: Many dogs, particularly breeder, hoarder or senior dogs, can have multiple medical issues that need addressed. Additionally, sometimes we take in young puppies requiring multiple vaccinations and/or quarantining. In this particular case, we are not yet taking applications either due to age or possible illness or some other reason. We will post when s(he) is ready for adoption. In the interest of fairness, EARLY application submissions will NOT be considered. Please note… we cannot respond to messages/emails, etc., on dogs that are NOT yet available for adoption. Please wait until the dog is available for adoption. We will post him or her on Facebook in our Adoptable Dog Album pinned to the top of our page which you can follow at this link: https://www.facebook.com/share/1B46skRWF5/ OR you can keep checking our website at www.roadtorescuela.org. We appreciate your cooperation and understanding.
