About Worthy
"She's so Worthy!" We think so too!
Meet Worthy, an absolute stunner who is likely a mix of Shepherd, Golden Retriever, and Great Pyrenees. Her soulful eyes can melt even the hardest of hearts.
Worthy came into TexasACR as a medical foster after VEG ER in Grand Prairie reached out to us for assistance, their shelter partners were full and had no space for her. She had suffered a badly broken back leg. Originally, surgery was considered, but the vet determined the breaks had already begun to calcify and allowed the leg to heal naturally. Today, Worthy gets around beautifully! She runs just as fast as the other dogs in her foster home, with only the occasional little hop in her gait when trotting.
Estimated to be born in early September 2024, Worthy weighs 54 lbs and has maintained that perfect size, ideal for suburban living, and even apartment life. Her easygoing personality makes her a wonderful fit for either.
She's the full package: completely housebroken, crate trained, walks nicely on leash, travels comfortably, and even enjoys being groomed. On top of that, she is super friendly and gentle, and loves human companionship of all ages.
Worthy enjoys playing with like-minded dogs but isn't a pushover, she'll stand her ground with pushy or overly energetic pups. She currently pays little attention to her foster's cat, though in a home without other dogs she might be more inclined to interact. Like many dogs, she loves to chase squirrels and bunnies, and she'll happily bark at horses through the fence line.
She's a fantastic watchdog, alerting her people to visitors, delivery drivers, or passing motorcycles and trucks. But most of all, Worthy craves love and attention, and she'll happily soak it up for as long as you'll give it.
