About Wrigley
I am at Oakland Animal Services in kennel Dog E:6
Meet Wrigley! At 4 years old and just 16 pounds, this Jack Russell mix is the total package—gentle, affectionate, and full of heart. Wrigley is mellow and well-mannered, but don't let his chill vibe fool you, he still loves to play! Whether it's a game of tug-of-war, a squeaky toy chase, classic fetch, or a walk in the great outdoors, Wrigley's tail is always wagging.
During his past stay in a foster home, Wrigley settled in beautifully and became a quiet shadow, always nearby and always ready for snuggles. He's smart, treat-motivated, and learns quickly!
Wrigley is friendly with other dogs at the shelter, a little shy in busy settings and with strangers, and has shown some signs of separation anxiety. A home with people that work from home or a well-matched, confident canine buddy could be a great fit. If you're looking for a loyal sidekick with a calm spirit and a playful heart, Wrigley might be a great match for your pack!
Wrigley recently went on a field trip with a volunteer, who reported: "Wrigley had a great time exploring the Alameda waterfront. He followed his nose, taking in all the smells, yet was content to go wherever I lead him. He didn't blink an eye at bicycles whizzing by and calmly observed passing dogs, not barking or pulling toward them even when they were rowdy. He was fascinated by the ground squirrels, though I was able to redirect him without much trouble. We took several breaks along the way to cuddle, have some treats, and take in the sights. Wrigley is a gentle and affectionate pup with the most expressive ears. He was a very good boy on our outing, and I'd be happy to take him on another adventure any time."
